April 12th my 3 month old and I traveled to Missouri from Florida. At first I was kind of nervous about travelimg by myself without my husbands extra hands but we managed very well! Alhamdulilah.
Ahmad didn't cry at all. I fed him when he was hungry, by the way, for any nursing mothers out there that do not wish to show the whole shebang, I really recommend going to uddercovers.com where they have these wonderful nursing covers. They are made in such a way where you can see your baby but no one else can. If you use the promo code of 'breastfeeding' all you have to do is pay for shipping and handling!
Our plane left at 6:50 in the morning, so I got up at 4:30 to get me and the baby ready and finish packing those last minute items. For both flights I got the window and there are great. It has a more "private" feeling and you have the choice to open or close your window. When we had a 2 hour layover in Atlanta Georgia that is when I changed his diaper. We also did a diaper change before our next flight as we had a 2 hour layover.
I was really surprised that we didn't have problems with traveling by ourselves, I think me and Ahmad will make great travel buddies!
My grandparents came to pick me up. First time for them to see their great-grandson. We were planning on going for lunch with my mom. Grandpa said to my grandma, "Why don't you call the jitterbug and tell her that what she has been waiting for all week is finally here." We picked her up from work and we took lunch at panera bread. My mom held Ahmad the whole! While getting her food and while eating.
After we were finished eating we went to drop my mom off for work. She wanted to show Ahmad off to her co-workers. Many of them didn't even know that she was a grandmother. I will never forget everytime she proudly announced, "This my Grandson!"
