Benefits of Being Humble

You learn new things
When we are humble, we are in a way, telling others that we don’t know everything. That we want their help to learn new things. There is no end to knowledge.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Seeking knowledge in (the company of others) for an hour in the night is better than spending the whole night in prayer."
Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 91

Realizing there is room to improve
It’s hard to be humble when we think we are perfect in every way and PROUD of it! We all- well, most of us- seek for perfection and when we achieve it, it is only the humble ones who realize that there is always more room for improvement. If we think that there is no room to improve in religion, life, marriage, etc. One day we will wake being sorely disappointed.

Being able to communicate with others
No one is meant to journey through life alone. When you understand the importance of being humble, you understand the importance of other people and their point of views. So, when you talk with others, instead of simply stating your point and not listening to the other opinion, you listen, in the mean time make new friends and a lasting impression. I have found with being more open minded, there is so much to learn from others. Despite their background, religion, lifestyle, etc. We have all lived different lives and have experienced different things.
Self-conceit shows a lack of sensibility and maturity. Those who are more reflective and spiritually mature have the sense to attribute whatever gifts they may have to the Creator, the Most High, and devote themselves to Him with humble gratitude.
